So August is here already and summer is just about over! Our baby is also turning 4 on Sunday!! It just seems like he has grown up too fast. Our little snuggle bug is a big preschooler who has an opinion and a mind of his own. Matthew has matured so much in the last year and has tested our limits we set and tries to always break the rules. He likes to do his own thing but has developed some great listening skills. He always aims to please. We're so proud of how Matthew has grown physically and mentally. He shows us every day how he is learning to write. He has great fine motor skills and takes after his mommy in the writing and drawing areas. He LOVES to draw and likes to practice at home. It's something that comes very easily to him and he enjoys it! He loves to draw pictures of his home, family and friends. Matthew has even developed some really close relationships with his frieds. Typical for a "Leo"! He likes to be the "leader" and has many followers at school... maybe not so good for him to be the leader since he gets the other children into trouble!
So Matthew's birthday party will be this Saturday, and we're sad to say that his BEST friend cannot make it. :( He is very sad about this since he and this other little boy, Olivier, are literally inseparable! They are like attached at the hip. They even sort of use there own language and only they know what they are talking about. They are so cute. But I'm sure that Matthew will get over it as soon as he sees his Hulk birthday party and all his other friends from school who will be there. He'll be so excited about his custom Pinata that I created for him since we could not get one online and he's been telling us that he can't wait for the pinata. So I had to make one. It came out pretty good, I must say so myself. Hopefully the weather will hold up since all it's been doing all summer is raining! I just really want him to have his party outside... 14 little preschoolers would be best if they were outdoors!

Big day tomorrow...
We will be off to have Matthew's Surgery. He is having his tonsils and adenoids out. Hopefully this will help with his sleep apnea, eating, and ability to swallow better. Mostly we hope that it will help the apnea but also hopeful that it will help prevent him from the sinus colds he gets all the time. No ear infection history, but his breathing is the main concern for the surgery. Wish him well and pray for a quick recovery. They said it will be pretty nasty for the next few weeks with little eating and that we need to at least push the fluids. I'm sure he will be happy to eat ice cream for the next few days as his main diet! We'll keep you all posted.

Wow.....
It has been a crazy holiday season so far. We're anxiously waiting for christmas!! Especially the boys. Matthew is as wild as ever and is constantly asking about Santa and his reindeer. He is no longer scared of Santa and went to visit him 3 times already. He now realizes that Santa is the one who brings presents at christmas time and that if he tells santa what he wants, that he may bring it. Even though Matthew discovered the stash of presents in the closet *my fault for not closing it all the way* he still thinks that Santa will bring the presents. We stashed the gifts in a locked closet and the boys have not even seen the wrapping paper yet. Matthew happened to follow me into the storage room and his eyes lit up like the sun... He said, "holy Cow mommy" and I knew what he saw. I rushed him out of the closet and then the questions began.... If you know matthew, when he gets on a roll with questions, he does NOT stop. He is never satisfied with a single answer. He started off with, "are those santa's presents" then came "why did he leave them here" "Is it Christmas now", "Why doesnt santa have his own closet".... and so on. Finally he gave up when I told him that if he kept asking questions that all the little boys and girls that we are holding the presents for will not get them, because Santa will throw them away if we told his secret hiding place. Then he asked who keeps the gifts for them before christmas and we told him that they were special and that Santa will bring the gifts for them from the North Pole, but only if they were good boys. And that was that. There's been no mention of the closet since 2 weeks ago.
So, the boys are really excited about christmas. This year is easy for Matthew, since he just likes everything. He's into the superheroes and transformers, robots, sports, movies, games, drawing, coloring and writing his letters and loves to count everything. But he will be really fun this year since he is a bit older and more understanding of Christmas now and what will happen.
We got our family portraits done a few weeks ago and are excited to get them back soon. Matthew of course was such a ham. The portraits will be really cute and we cant wait. Funny story: When it was Matthew's turn to get his portrait alone, he didnt want to. He wanted Andrew to stand with him. To get his attention I told him to pose and we said "Matthew, what are you bringing?" and he immediately started posing and said "I'm bringin sexy back" LOL. The photographer was laughing so hard she could barely take the pictres... but needless to say, with his posing the photos came out cute. We'll post them as soon as we get them.

Matthew's First Post....
For today I will introduce you to Matthew....

He is our little energizer bunny that never stops...
